FLAT-FEE PRICING

Most family law services are charged at an hourly rate, but when you're going through a separation, which is already a time of uncertainty, an unknown variable expense is just an additional worry. When you work with me, what you see is what you get, and the one price is for the guidance through the process as well as the completed agreement at the end.

Step 1: Pre-Mediation Meeting

We start with an individual pre-mediation meeting, where I meet with you, alone, to discuss your situation from your perspective and review any concerns you may have prior to meeting in our joint mediation session.

In our pre-mediation meeting, I am assessing if mediation will be efficient, effective and supportive for each of you. I want to understand the details of your family so that I can make sure I'm helping in the best way. I will review the process and next steps with you and give you some recommendations to ensure the joint session. Having regard to your circumstances, we will also talk about which of the mediation packages below will best meet your needs.

$300/person (plus tax)

Step 2: Prepare for and Attend Mediation

Once your pre-mediation is complete, we will book a mediation under one of the packages below. The length and cost of your mediation depends on what matters you and your spouse need to resolve. I have the three most common types of discussions laid out below and the package price associated with each one.

Parenting Mediation

When only parenting needs to be addressed (no property is owned)

all communications between you & my office
guided step-by-step process for preparing for mediation including recommendations for professionals to consult
direction in gathering & organizing the necessary documents for mediation
use of secure document drive for sharing documents & files with my office and your spouse througout the process
a half-day (up to 4 hours)* mediated planning session addressing parenting matters, such as:
- best interests of your children
- communication and decision making
- parenting time and scheduling
- scheduling for special days, holiday time & school breaks
- travel
information about the law and about standards in co-parenting to help you make decisions
preparation of Child Support calculations and information and guidance about applying the calculations in your circumstances

$1,200/person (plus tax)

Financial Mediation

For those with only financial matters to resolve

all communications between you & my office
guided step-by-step process for preparing for mediation including recommendations for professionals to consult
direction in gathering & organizing the necessary documents for mediation
use of secure document drive for sharing documents & files with my office and your spouse througout the process
a half-day (up to 4 hours)* mediated planning session addressing parenting matters, such as:
- best interests of your children
- communication and decision making
- parenting time and scheduling
- scheduling for special days, holiday time & school breaks
- travel
information about the law and application to help you make decisions
preparation of Child & Spousal Support calculations and information and guidance about applying the calculations in your circumstances

$1,200/person (plus tax)

Parenting & Financial
Mediation

For families with parenting and property matters to resolve

all communications between you & my office
guided step-by-step process for preparing for mediation including recommendations for professionals to consult
direction in gathering & organizing the necessary documents for mediation
use of secure document drive for sharing documents & files with my office and your spouse througout the process
a full-day (up to 7 hours)* mediated planning session addressing:
- parenting matters, such as:
  - best interests of your children
  - communication and decision making
  - parenting time and scheduling
  - scheduling for special days, holiday time & school breaks
  - travel
- financial matters, such as:
  - financial intentions and goals
  - monthly child support
  - monthly spousal support
  - distribution of property and debt
information about the law and its application to help you make decisions

preparation of property distribution calculations and information about applying the calculations in your circumstances

$1,800/person (plus tax)

Should you require more time than included in the pricing packages above, additional half-day sessions are invoiced at a hourly rate of $200/person. About 80 percent of our clients do not need additional hours. Full-day sessions may be broken into multiple sessions if desired.

Step 3: Drafting the Separation Agreement

Once your mediation is complete, I prepare your agreement for you. I draft a standard legal Separation Agreement using common, easy to understand language to minimize confusion and disagreements after mediation. I also use neutral language, so that the wording does not favour one party over another.

You will receive a copy of the Agreement in Microsoft Word format so that you may make agreed upon changes to the document easily and quickly. I will also send you copies of all schedules, calculations, and spreadsheets we use in mediation and you will have continued access to our secure document drive so that you may review all the information with a lawyer before you sign the agreement.
