Rebecca Alleyne
Family Lawyer & Mediator
For almost 20 years, I’ve worked as a family lawyer and mediator, helping families navigate separation in a way that is fair, respectful, and constructive.
After many years working in courtrooms as a divorce lawyer, I noticed the how the high level of conflict was impacting my clients and their children and began to feel that my work was not helping people overall. I wanted to help people get through the transition of separation and divorce efficiently, but still be able to talk through daily parenting issues, root for their kids' together at soccer games and sit beside each other at their kids' high school graduation. That's when I knew that I needed to change direction.

Since then, I’ve guided more than 1,000 families through mediation with the goal of reducing conflict and focusing on what matters most: creating a workable plan for the future. Whether you’re co-parenting children or simply wanting to part ways on good terms, I believe the process should bring clarity and peace of mind - not more stress.

Over the years, I’ve developed software and refined the mediation process to make it clearer and more supportive. My approach ensures that everyone understands the intentions, key details, and calculations they need to make informed decisions efficiently. This helps families move forward confidently and reach a fair, professionally drafted agreement as quickly and affordably as possible.

I hold Bachelor of Commerce degree (University of Calgary, 2001) and a Law degree (University of Victoria, 2005), and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2006. I am a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, an accredited Family Law Mediator, and a member of the Civil and Family Rosters of Mediate BC after completing hundreds of hours of advanced mediation training.
Most importantly, I’ve seen how mediation can transform conflict into a respectful, forward-looking plan. My role is to guide you through this process with compassion and skill, so you can move ahead with confidence and a stronger foundation for the future.

Before your mediation, we’ll meet for a short pre-mediation session. This meeting gives us a chance to go over the process, answer your questions, and make sure you feel prepared and supported in the joint mediation session.
