Support Recalculations
A half-day mediation to help parents review updated income information and recalculate child and spousal support - keeping support fair, accurate, and up to date.
As your family changes, your child support and spousal support arrangements may need to change, too. In British Columbia, parents are expected to exchange updated financial information each year, and that can mean adjusting support amounts to keep them fair and accurate.

For some families, the Child Support Recalculation Service provides a free administrative option to update child support. That service is limited to straightforward situations where both parents have employment income that can be easily verified. It does not apply where income includes self-employment or business income, rental income, commissions, dividends, or other more complex sources, or where spousal support also needs to be reviewed.

Where the free service does not apply, I offer a focused half-day mediation session to help you and your co-parent review your current incomes, update support calculations, and talk through any changes together in a respectful and constructive way.

A Focussed Mediation Session
You don’t need to go to court or navigate a complicated process to update your support arrangements. In our session we:
-
Review updated financial information together.
-
Look at child support based on the Federal Child Support Guidelines and how special expenses like childcare or medical costs are shared.
-
Talk through any changes to spousal support that may be appropriate.
-
Create a clear, updated support agreement you both understand and can sign.
I guide the conversation so it stays respectful and practical. My role is to help you communicate, work through the calculations, and leave with a support agreement that reflects your current circumstances.

This session gives you clarity about support for the year ahead and a process that respects your time and needs.
Clear Fees You Can Plan Around
I provide this focused mediation session at a transparent flat rate. The fee includes everything you need for the day: up to 3 hours of facilitated discussion, new calculations and your finalized, updated support agreement, ready to sign and move forward with.

If you’d like to update support and make sure it matches your current situation, I’m here to help you do that efficiently, collaboratively, and with dignity.

The cost for this focused mediation session is $1,200 per person.
